The Sino-Singapore Eco City in Tianjin, China is a joint venture development of Singapore and China. The urban planning has been developed as a result of an international urban
planning competition with Germany´s Reinschiene.

The new town will be home to 350,000 people. The new town will be mainly characterized by the "Eco Valley", green corridor of 12km length that connects the districts and the centre of the new town. As the Ji Canal and the Eco- City intersect a natural new core is formed.

The Sustainability Target will be achieved by a number of Features:
Renewable Energy Technologies such as solar energy and geothermal energy will deliver energy and ensure the energy efficiency.

The New Buildigs will be build with green building standard.

Green transportation by public transport an encouragement of walking / cycling

Careful integration of existing natural areas will maintain and protect biodiversity

Water Management: Efficient Water Use and Water Recycling, use of desalinated water and recycled water

Waste Management: Recycling and Reduction of Waste, Usage of organic waste as biomass power.

Besides these features the New Town aims to provide business opportunities for its residents, seeks to ensure social harmony and the protection of its heritage.
