SOM has been commissioned a Masterplan for Golden Hills an Eco-Urban Community in Denang, Vietnam. The site covers and area of 375 along the Cu De River and is located at the northern boundary of Denang.
The Plan incorporates a number of uses: including a series of residential neighborhoods, a Village Center, a Business District, and an Education, Sports and Leisure District, a hospital and kindergarden.
The plan will be sensitive towards a potential storm & flood risk as it is located very close to the river. It will also ensure that the Riverfront´s Wildlife is preserved and enhanced. This Riverfront will be in connection with parks and landscapes that serve as regulator towards the watermanagement of the new habitat (among other funtions)
The new town is located around a " Viallage Center" and will have residential areas of higher and lower density. The future urban population is projected at 30,000 people.
To reduce carbon emission by cars, interconnectivity by paths is ensured in the design.
